Episode 14: Dealer Talk. The ATV business with Anthony Deacon

Bedfordshire ATV specialist, MKM Agriculture, are unusual in being able to offer the four leading Japanese ATV brands under one roof.

Managing Director Anthony tells Chris Biddle how the company gradually built up a 'full house' of the franchises, and how they fit well together.

He also discusses the importance of operator training and the benefit of being a qualified EASI (European ATV Safety Institute) instructor.

MKM opened a second branch in Suffolk last year and says that winning the ATV Dealer of the Year award organised by Service Dealer last year provided a valuable 'status' during 2020 and a 'badge of service quality' which has helped to exceed his expectations for the business in challenging trading conditions.

In 1988, he launched trade magazine, Service Dealer followed by TurfPro in 1998, selling both titles to Land Power Publications in 2015.
He was editor of Landwards, the professional journal of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IAgrE) from 2008 until 2019 and is the recipient of the 2020 IAgrE Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Land-Based industry.
Chris lives in Salisbury with his wife Trish, and is an avid cricket fan and member of the MCC for over 55 years.
