MENTORING SMALL BUSINESSES with Martin Sanders

After a long career with Honda, Martin Sanders is now assisting small businesses by providing business coaching and mentoring. In this podcast he explains the difference.

For many years, Martin headed Honda's Power Products Division, and then went on to become Chief Financial Officer and Chief Audit Executive of Honda Motor Europe until his retirement in 2020.

A trained accountant, Martin says that the most rewarding feedback and practical advice for businesses at the sharp-end, came from his time visiting and talking to dealers. And the most memorable yardstick or metric for judging business performance, the Lunchtime Test, came from a dealer.

He understands how difficult it is to switch off when running a family business, and that a pair of outside eyes can help business owners see 'the wood from the trees' when day-to-day challenges get in the way of strategic planning
